The International Journal of Respiration ，formerly Section of Respiratory System Foreign Medical Sciences ，established in 1981，was later renamed in 2006 as International Journal of Respiration . The aim of the journal is to conduct the policies of the party and country，combine theory with practice，integrate popularization with progress. The journal reflects the latest basic and clinical advances of respiratory field at home and abroad，enhances academic exchange. The journal mainly covers the latest trends of respiratory diseases at home and abroad， scientific achievements, diagnosis-treatment guide, specialist’s comment, topic lecture, clinical experience，typical case report. The readers involve doctors and nurses in respiratory department, emergency department, ICU, pediatrics department, geriatrics department，thoracic department， sleep center and allergic reaction department，as well as the workers in basic and clinical studies of the respiratory field. The main columns include Comment, Original Paper, Review, Clinical Experience, Research Report,Case Reports,Continuing Medical Education and others. In 2005,it was granted as the 2nd place prize for Excellent Periodicals of Chinese Medical Association.
